Historical Background
The Mosquito FB Mk.VI became one of the RAF's most effective strike aircraft during World War II. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, it could exceed 370 mph while carrying bombs, rockets, and four 20mm cannons. Its speed allowed crews to perform low-level precision attacks against heavily defended targets throughout Europe.
Mosquitos participated in anti-shipping operations, intruder missions, railway attacks, and famous precision raids against Gestapo headquarters and prison facilities. Many historians consider it one of the most successful combat aircraft of the war.
