Full Product Description

Takom 1/35 M46 Patton & Jeep Limited Edition

The M46 Patton was developed from the M26 Pershing and became the primary U.S. Army medium tank during the Korean War. Powered by a more powerful engine and armed with a 90mm gun, the M46 offered significantly improved mobility and combat effectiveness compared to its predecessor.

Takom's Limited Edition release combines the M46 Patton with a 1/4-ton utility truck (Jeep), creating an excellent foundation for a Korean War display or command vehicle diorama. The kit includes detailed suspension, finely molded hull and turret parts, clear components, realistic tracks, and numerous external details.

The included Jeep adds tremendous display value and allows modelers to create maintenance, command post, or convoy scenes without purchasing additional kits.

Historical Background

The M46 Patton entered service in 1949 as an improved version of the M26 Pershing. During the Korean War it became one of the principal U.S. armored fighting vehicles and proved highly effective against North Korean and Chinese armor.

The accompanying 1/4-ton utility truck served alongside virtually every U.S. Army unit of the era, carrying personnel, communications equipment, and supplies. Together, the M46 and Jeep represent two of the most recognizable American military vehicles of the early Cold War period.
