Historical Overview

The Schnellboot (S-Boat) became one of Germany's most successful naval weapons during World War II. Unlike many Allied patrol torpedo boats, the S-Boat featured a seaworthy round-bottom hull powered by high-performance Daimler-Benz diesel engines, giving it exceptional range, reliability, and speed.

Operating primarily at night, Schnellboote attacked Allied shipping, laid naval mines, escorted convoys, and disrupted invasion operations.
