Italeri 1/35 LVT-4 Water Buffalo
The LVT-4 “Water Buffalo” was one of the most successful amphibious assault vehicles used by Allied forces during World War II. Developed from earlier Landing Vehicle Tracked (LVT) designs, the LVT-4 introduced a major redesign that relocated the engine to the center of the vehicle, allowing the addition of a rear loading ramp for troops, jeeps, artillery, and cargo. This greatly improved loading and unloading efficiency during amphibious assaults.
The vehicle served extensively in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Marine Corps and later in Europe during river crossings and amphibious operations after D-Day. The LVT-4 became one of the most recognizable Allied amphibious vehicles of the war.
Italeri’s 1/35 scale kit offers a large and impressive model with a detailed troop compartment, open cargo area, photo-etched parts, and multiple marking options. The kit has become popular with modelers creating beach landing dioramas or Marine Corps vehicle collections.
