Full Product Description
Italeri 1/32 Macchi C.205 Veltro
The Macchi C.205 Veltro ("Greyhound") represented the pinnacle of Italian fighter development during World War II. Derived from the successful C.202 Folgore, the C.205 combined the elegant aerodynamics of its predecessor with the powerful Daimler-Benz DB605 engine, allowing speeds of approximately 640 km/h (398 mph) and performance comparable to many Allied fighters.
Armed with two 12.7mm machine guns and two 20mm cannon, the Veltro entered combat in 1943 and quickly earned a reputation as one of the most capable Axis fighters in the Mediterranean theater.
Italeri's completely modern tooling provides exceptional detail throughout the aircraft. The cockpit features 3D decals and photo-etched components, while the engine compartment and nose gun bay can be displayed open. The kit also includes detailed landing gear, optional positionable flaps, and markings for eight different aircraft.
