Historical Background

The DB-7B Boston III entered RAF service in 1942 and quickly became one of Britain's most effective light bombers. Fast, maneuverable, and capable of carrying a useful bomb load, the Boston performed low-level attack, intruder, night fighter, and tactical bombing missions. Crews appreciated its rugged construction and ability to absorb battle damage while returning home safely.

Many Boston IIIs served with RAF squadrons during operations over occupied Europe and later supported Allied campaigns in North Africa and Italy.
