Hasegawa 1/32 Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden “Jack” Type 21 – 08882 / ST32
Build one of the Imperial Japanese Navy's distinctive late-war interceptors with Hasegawa's impressive large-scale 1/32 Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden, known to the Allies by the reporting name “Jack.”
Developed primarily as a land-based interceptor, the compact and heavily armed Raiden was designed around speed and climb performance rather than the extreme maneuverability associated with aircraft such as the Zero. The J2M3 Type 21 became the principal production version and carried four 20mm cannon.
Hasegawa's 1/32 kit offers substantial detail while retaining the company's generally straightforward approach to assembly. The cockpit alone contains more than 30 parts, and the kit includes internal fuselage supports and wing spars that help strengthen and align the large airframe.
