Hasegawa 1/32 Ju 87G-2 Stuka Kanonenvogel (08075) – WWII Luftwaffe Tank Buster
Full Product Description
Hasegawa 1/32 Junkers Ju 87G-2 Stuka "Kanonenvogel"
The Ju 87G-2 was the final and most heavily armed combat version of the famous Junkers Stuka. Nicknamed the "Kanonenvogel" or "Cannon Bird," this aircraft replaced bombs with a pair of powerful 37mm BK 3.7 anti-tank cannons mounted beneath the wings.
Operating primarily on the Eastern Front, Ju 87G crews attacked Soviet armored formations at extremely low altitude. The aircraft became famous through the exploits of Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated pilot of the Luftwaffe, who reportedly destroyed hundreds of enemy vehicles while flying the cannon-equipped Stuka.
Hasegawa's 1/32 scale Ju 87G-2 remains one of the most respected Stuka kits available. The model features excellent fit, detailed cockpit components, accurate cannon installations, finely recessed panel lines, and authentic late-war markings. The large scale allows builders to showcase the unique appearance of one of World War II's most specialized combat aircraft.

Historical Background
The Ju 87G entered combat during 1943 as Germany sought effective methods to counter increasing Soviet armor. By replacing bombs with specialized anti-tank cannons, the aircraft could attack tanks from above where armor protection was weakest.
Although vulnerable to enemy fighters, the Ju 87G proved highly effective when air superiority was available. The type remained in service until the final days of the war and became one of the most recognizable anti-tank aircraft in aviation history.
