ICM 1/48 B-26B-50 Invader Korean War American Bomber
Best overall
ICM 1/48 B-26B-50 Invader Korean War American Bomber
The Douglas B-26/A-26 Invader became one of the hardest-working attack aircraft of the Korean War, conducting devastating night interdiction missions against trucks, trains, and supply routes. The B-26B-50 late-production strafer version carried eight nose-mounted .50 caliber machine guns and could unleash enormous firepower during low-level attacks.
ICM’s 2019 tooling was highly anticipated because it replaced the older Monogram kit with:
Fine recessed panel lines
Modern engineering
Detailed cockpit and radio compartment
Separate control surfaces
Excellent clear parts
Optional canopy configurations
Detailed bomb bay and ordnance
ScaleSpot described the kit as:
“highly anticipated” due to ICM’s recent tooling quality.
Britmodeller praised the:
“crisp, narrow and restrained” panel lines and detailed molding.
Hyperscale called it:
“a quick and easy build” producing “a large and impressive model.”
