Historical Overview

The North American B-25 Mitchell first flew in 1940 and became one of the most widely used medium bombers of World War II, with nearly 10,000 aircraft produced.

The Mitchell achieved lasting fame during the Doolittle Raid, when sixteen B-25s launched from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet to strike targets in Japan.
